Study Abroad Programs in Ankara
Ankara University's TÖMER - Turkish Teaching Institute [two locations]
Tunali Hilmi Cad. No: 97 Kavaklidere - ANKARA
Ziya Gökalp Cad. No: 18 Kizilay - ANKARA
All TÖMER branches feature the same language teaching standard and make use of the same technique and approaches, as well as the same lesson programs and resources. [See Turkish Study Abroad home] Teachers at all branches are employed by the TÖMER Directorate and sent to TÖMER branches after completing an orientation program.
TÖMER Branches organize cultural activities so that the process of language teaching can be consolidated. There are meeting and farewell parties at the start and end of each semester; there are also trips to nearby historical and tourist sites, picnics, concerts and debates. All these activities aim to promote Turkish culture and provide means for learners to get to know each other better. TÖMER Kizilay and Tunali branches in Ankara together provide language learning facilities that are very adequate.
TÖMER also has branches in several other locations in Turkey, but we have no first-hand information about the quality and effectiveness of teaching at those sites.
